Graduation ceremonies are approaching for the Class of 2012.

Madisonville North Hopkins will hold baccalaureate at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, and graduation at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 18. 

Hopkins County Central will hold baccalaureate at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, with awards at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, and graduation at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 21.

HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE)- There's big news in the small city of Mortons Gap on Monday. 

Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson presented the town with a million dollar check, which the city plans to use to build homes for residents.

"I'm holding a check for a million dollars," said Mortons Gap Mayor Frank Stafford.

Mayor Stafford held that check in his lap all Monday afternoon.

In a town of 1,000 people, a million dollars goes a long way.

Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park will offer guided canoe trips by moonlight on June 2 and 30 and July 28. Bring water, insect repellent and a flashlight. Registration is $20 per canoe

Participants must be 10 years old or older.
