Teen trapped for 3 hours in wrecked vehicle

 

A 19-year-old Muhlenberg County woman was trapped inside her vehicle for three hours late Tuesday evening after she ran off the road.

The sheriff’s office says it happened at approximately 9:00 p.m. First responders were dispatched to the accident, which happened 431 South near Dunmoor.

Funeral held for man killed in recycling center explosion

MUHLENBERG CO., KY (WFIE)- In Muhlenberg County, a funeral is held for a man killed last week in a recycling center explosion.

28-year-old Robert Adam Baxter died when a barrel exploded Friday.

OSHA is investigating the accident.

Tuesday's procession included several emergency vehicles from the Greenville Fire Department, Muhlenberg Co. Sheriff's Office and Greenville Police.

Kentucky’s four state veterans cemeteries and three veterans nursing homes will hold ceremonies this Memorial Day holiday honoring those who have died for our country.

At the Joseph “Eddie” Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, the ceremony will take place on Friday, May 24 at 10 a.m.

 KVCW Director Richard Stanley will be the guest speaker. Residents and staff will share when and where they served in the military. The program will close with a tribute to residents of WKVC who have passed away during the past year.

Hopkins County Schools and Hopkins County Family YMCA are again sponsoring the Summer Feed-ing Program, which will offer meals starting Wednesday, May 22. The federal program offers free meals for children when school is not in session. Anyone 18 and younger may eat at any of the sites.

UPDATE:  Weather service course rescheduled

Due to the possibility of severe weather Tuesday into early Wednesday, the National Weather Service has rescheduled a webinar course. 

The Severe Weather Product Interpretation Webinar, which was to be held Tuesday, will now be held Thursday, May 23rd from 6:30pm to 7pm.
