New mentoring lunch buddy program for BBBS | Community Spirit
Big Brothers Big Sisters are hoping you can be a kid's lunch buddy.
Officials with the organization say they are looking for volunteers to mentor kids by having lunch with them at school a couple of times a month. The new program is to provide mentors for kids who need them. The program allows those who volunteers to help on a smaller scale a few times a month.
"We've had a little troule getting volunteers so we assumed that a lunch with a child, just go have lunch for 20-30 minutes a couple of times a month is a little less time commitment for the volunteer yet they can have a huge impact on the child," says Executive Director Sandra Aiken.
If you would like to volunteer, you can contact the Big Brothers Big Sisters office in downtown Madisonville at 270-821-0688.
