Free severe weather preparedness event | Events

Madisonville is holding its 'Severe Weather Preparedness Day' on Saturday.

The event will feature the debut of Madisonville Fire Department's Fire Prevention and Life Safety Trailer.

There will also be blood pressure screenings, weather radio programming, and live entertainment.

"It does pack a punch," exclaims Kevin Cotton, Madisonville's Fire Captain. "The tornado is realistic. It's going to give you the realistic sound effects. You're going to be able to hear the rain, the lightning, the thunder. It's all encompassed into that scenario."

The program will take place on Saturday in the Lowe's parking lot in Madisonville from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
