Learn & Burn program | News
HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (WFIE) - Registration began today for a new health contest. The Hopkins County Library is teaming up with Baptist Health Madisonville, for Learn & Burn. The new program is another outlet for health concious information.
The 12-week program involves a "Healthy Topics" speaker series at the library every Thursday from 6:00-6:30pm.
To be a participant you must be at least 18 years of age. There will be 2 divisions, for men and women. Participants must weigh-in every Thursday at the library between 10:00am and 6:00pm.
To enter the contest, participants pay $5 which includes a t-shirt. To register, visit the Hopkins County-Madisonville Public Library at 455 Madison Square Drive or call 270-825-2777 or email email@example.com.
Drawings for prizes will be held weekly. Participants earn tickets for these drawings by doing the following:
--1 ticket for registering
--1 ticket for each weigh-in
--1 tickets for attending a "Healthy Topics" weekly Thursday seminar
--1 ticket for referring a friend before August 1st
Weight lost will be calculated by percentage lost, not by pounds lost.
A male and female grand prize winner will be determined at the end of the contest on October 10th.
Prizes include: food scales, precision blenders, memberships to Baptist Health's sport performance center, Weight Watchers cookbooks, and three Kindle fire tablets.
