Animals make safe, fast trip to new Humane Society shelter | News
It's the start of a new era for the Hopkins County Humane Society.
Over 50 volunteers and employees spent hours Saturday morning doing final preparattions before moving all the animals into their new homes.
The new 4,500 square-foot facility is air-conditioned, has three separate ventilation systems, a surgery room, stainless steel cages, and a larger animal storage capacity.
"We moved all the animals into the cages, the new cages, the new cat condos," says Jack Merrill. "It was a huge success, we made it in record time. We've got the entire facility moved over in three hours."
Officials say the new shelter will be open for normal business hours on Monday.
