Free fingerprinting for children at Hopkins County Fair | News
HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (WFIE) - The Hopkins County fair kicked off July 23rd and runs throughout the 27th. Among the usual carnival foods and rides, there is also a unique booth helping parents protect their children. The Madisonville Police Department is offering free fingerprinting for kids, just in case they ever get lost. Officials say the expect to fingerprint over 1500 children throughout the four day event.
"The neat thing we like to tell parents is this...these forms go home with you, we don't keep these," says Lt. Robert Carter. "These are yours. We complete them here. We get them squared away and we give them back to the parents."
Police take a fingerprint, hair sample, and basic infomation is case your child ever get lost, then that crucial info is readily available.
