MADISONVILLE, KY (WFIE)- In Madisonville, a local organization is launching an after school arts program for kids.
It's called 'Breathe' and it's for students between 5th and 12th grade. The program starts this Tuesday and the best part is, it's all free.
Classes will be held at the newly renovated Rosenwald-Smith Multicultural Center in Madisonville.
It's a 12 week program, but organizers hope to have a Summer and Fall session later in the year.
The first set of classes will focus on four different components including music, dance, creative writing, and visual arts.
The organization Light of Chance works to provide positive influences for children and Director Eric Logan says this is just another way they're trying to help today's young people.
"It gives them a creative outlet to express themselves artistically, creatively, socially, a lot of team building. It's just a positive environment for young people to be in to help plant seeds and to help them grow," Logan said.
