A teenager's joy ride in a sports car didn't end well, according to Madisonville Police.
On Saturday afternoon, they say 18-year-old Christopher Ferfecki was behind the wheel of a red 1994 Dodge Stealth, going up and down Oak Street at a high rate of speed. A 15-year-old was in the car with him.
When a neighbor backed an SUV out of his driveway, Ferfecki apparently swerved to avoid him and struck a Madisonville Utilities pole, breaking it. The Stealth then smashed a fire hydrant and came to a stop.
Officers say the utility pole and attached transformer landed on the car. The electrical supply weather heads on three houses were dislodged when the pole came down.
Ferfecki was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Police say the other teen wasn't hurt.
