McGehee wins state's Sheriff of the Year award

Muhlenberg County Sheriff, Curtis McGehee has been chosen by the KY Sheriff's Association as Sheriff of the Year. The award will be presented at the Galt House in Louisville, Ky at the annual Sheriff's Association Banquet on Sept. 20th.

McGehee began serving as sheriff in Jan of 2011.

McGehee was nominated as a result of accomplishments during the past year, some of which included: junior deputy program for Muhlenberg County third graders; aggressive drug enforcement, targeting the arrest and prosecution of drug traffickers; a security check program designed to increase security of rural businesses and churches; involvement in community oriented programs; and completion of the Department of Criminal Justice 18 week training program in Richmond, Ky.
