Muhlenberg County Sheriff Curtis McGehee received the Kentucky Sheriffs of The Year Award at the Galt House in Louisville over the weekend. McGehee received the award as a result of new programs he has implemented for the department and his aggressive stance against illegal drug activity.
Additionally, McGehee and Deputies Terry Vick and Troy Gibson were awarded the Medal of Honor for an act of bravery earlier in the year. The award was presented as a result of their response when a Drakesboro man pulled out a gun as officers attempted to place him under arrest.
