HOPKINS CO., KY (WFIE)- The Hopkins County School District is now requiring visitors to show proper identification before entering any school building.
Officials say this is in direct response to the Sandy Hook shootings.
Also, no adults will be allowed to walk their children to their classrooms in the morning or from the school to their car in the afternoon, they must remain in the vehicle rider line.
Schools will have an area where adults who walk their students home may pick them up without going through the building.
These changes take effect once school resumes in January.
