Successful blood drive in honor of Greenville teenager | People
MUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY (WFIE) - On August 20th, Second Baptist Church in Greenville held a blood drive in honor of Rachel Pentecost. Rachel was in a severe accident in May, which required a lengthy hospital stay and close to 100 units of donated blood.
Rachel's family say the blood drive was a success, as organizers were able to collect 56 units of donated blood. The goal of the drive was 94 units, but time constraints and lack of supplies meant organizers had to turn people away. The family tells 14News they are already planning another event for October.
