Loan sought to finish library renovations | Public Spaces
A loan is being sought to complete renovations on the new Hopkins County-Madisonville Public Library.
That's according to our media partner, the Madisonville Messenger.
The former Save-a-Lot property downtown is being converted into the library's new home.
During a special meeting tuesday night, the library accepted First United Bank’s terms for a 10-year loan up to $250,000 at 4.75% interest.
Similar approval by the library foundation board is also required.
Dr. Bill Smith, chairman of the library board's finance and building committees, says he anticipates most of the money will be used.
