New low income family homes in Hopkins Co.
Real estate in Mortons Gap is getting a much needed facelift around the city.
Eleven new low income family homes are coming soon to the area. The $1 million project is being funded by a community block development grant. Each home is around 800 square feet, features three bedrooms, comes with some new appliances, and is ready for occupancy in four months. After five years of insurance and tax payments, the homes permanently belong to the owners.
"I think you talk with any of the people who has one of these homes, they are enjoying them," said Mayor Frank Stafford. "They're really enjoying them. So I'm tickled to death."
