Dawson Springs school superintendent steps down | Schools
Dawson Springs Independent Schools superintendent Charles Proffitt is moving on after just one year on the job. His last day will be July 22, according to our media partner, the Madisonville Messenger.
Proffitt is moving to Breckenridge County and will become the superintendent at Cloverport Independent Schools.
Stepping into the role is former superintendent Aleis Seymore, who retired and moved to Alabama last year but has agreed to return to Dawson Springs and become the short-term answer for the district.
The search is already underway for a permanent replacement, but with a vacant seat on the school board to fill first, the process of hiring a new superintendent could take awhile.
