Donna Bumps promoted to MCHS principal

The Muhlenberg County Board of Education has announced that Donna Bumps has been selected as principal for Muhlenberg County High School.  She replaces Matt Perkins who moved to the Central Office as Assistant Superintendent.

The Muhlenberg County High School site based decision making council reviewed nine applicants for the position and chose to interview three. The interviews took place on July 23 and the council made the recommendation to Superintendent Dale Todd on July 24.

Bumps has been an Assistant Principal at Muhlenberg County High School since 2009. From 2007-2009 she worked with the Kentucky Department of Education as a Highly Skilled Educator. She begin her educational career in 2000 when she taught Math at James E. Bazzell Middle School in Allen County.

"I have met with Mrs. Bumps and she is very excited and humbled by this opportunity," Todd said in a news release. "Her experience with curriculum and knowledge of instruction will provide a smooth transition into the principal’s role. I am encouraged by her vision that all students can succeed and she is certainly excited and determined to provide opportunities for our students so they are college or career ready."
